In 2011, Pepper was developed in-house: partly thanks to the contribution of hundreds of single people who shared with us their ideas and experiences of online dating. Pepper distinguished itself from other dating websites through its personal mood board. We made a major contribution to Pepper’s growth through large-scale advertising on TV and radio and by supporting Pepper with PR and marketing. This enabled Pepper to grow from nothing to achieving a top-3 position in the Dutch online dating market. RTL Ventures was 100% shareholder in Pepper before selling the brand to MatchMedia (50plusmatch and match4me) in 2016.
